Kids need to know that they’re loved all the time, but they also need autonomy and independence. It’s important to set boundaries and be consistent with them, but also remember that they are their own people and they have their own personalities and quirks. It’s okay if they don’t always listen to you or do what you want them to do, but it’s your job to show them how to be self-sufficient and responsible – no matter what stage they’re at.

Motherhood is tough, but it’s rewarding in ways you never imagined. During those tough days, take the time to reassure yourself that you’re doing a great job.
